2011 Conservation Project - Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory
Golden-winged Warbler

Each year our nursery promotes a local conservation group and donates a percentage of our plant sales to its projects.  This year we are pleased to support the work of Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory (PEPtBO).

Visit the PEPtBO website for pictures, volunteer opportunities, events (including the Spring Birding Festival in May 2011).  Visitors to the point are welcome and can see banding operations in progress during spring and fall.
Each year tens of thousands of birds are banded at one of Ontario's most exciting birding hotspots.

PEPtBO is a small self sustaining operation which functions as a migration monitoring station at the Prince Edward Point Natural Wildlife Area during the spring (April - June) and fall (August-October) migration seasons.
The observatory is a member of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network which is comprised of more than 20 similar stations across Canada.

They rely almost completely on the generous donations of their members, friends, volunteers and sponsors to fund their work on conservation, research and education related to birds and the environment.
The Observatory is located at the tip of PrinceEdward Point and is an interesting place to visit any time of year (for birds and plants).
